•Comparing our High School with our parents' High Schools:


*Do your parents think that the school now is better or worse than before?


-They think that the school now is different, it isn’t better or worse. But for example when they were young the teachers were stricter and the students used to respect the teachers more than now.
-In many ways, the school is now better than before; even when we were young we had a lot more respect for teachers.
-Better, because teachers don’t hit students, there are more trips, in the form of study and learn because there are more exams and less stuff in each study.


*Do your parents think that the time they spent in school was useful for themselves?


-They think that it was very useful for themselves, they learnt, they were formed with useful advices to be good people to succeed in their futures.


-Yes, of course and if they had spent well that time, it would be very good for them even more than now.


-Yes, because knowledge doesn’t take place, so all that you learn is used.


*What they studied when they were young do they use in their live today?


-Yes, because you need reading and mathematics knowledges. And all you can learn in a way or another it helps you.


-There are things that perhaps we don’t use but another like the education that they gave them yes because now they are well mannered people.


-Yes, at least so far, overcoat Professional Formation, because I studied electricity and it helped me to work later. And about the school, subjects helped me but in less quantity.

Roquetes High School!

Now we're going to introduce our High School:

Our High School has teached classes since 1996 and we had two buildings because there wasn’t place for all courses, the Batxillerat course and Aesthetics and Hairdressing course go to the building that is farther away.
The centre welcomes students from Roquetes and towns around Roquetes like Aldover, Alfara, Benifallet, Jesús, Paüls, Raval de Cristo, Reguers and Xerta.

There are transport services and dining hall. We have an open consultation too, for the students that have problems or questions about their lives, the school, etc.


In our High School we have an orchestra: The orchestra "STOP" is a school orchestra formed by the students of IES ROQUETES.


The orchestra "STOP" started in the course 2005-2006, now five years ago. The basic motive for the creation of the orchestra was, and is, the motivation of the students. They feel they are actors, musicians and essentially the main characters of a show, something they will possibly never do again.

Things in favour about our school:


Our centre is well equipped, has good sport facilities, a soccer field, two of basketball and a gym big enough. The classrooms are all well equipped, there are computers and projectors. The students enjoy fully computerized three classrooms: Languages classroom and two more classrooms, when we do the Computing classes.

Welcome to our group BLOG!

Hi people! We are four students from Roquetes High School and we are studying 1^st of Batxillerat. Sara and Cinta are in Humanistic Batxillerat (languages) and Nati and Andrea are in Scientist Batxillerat (sciences).

We’re so excited  to be in this project because we think that it would be a really good and interesting experience!

Cinta

Hello everybody, my name is Cinta and I am 16 years old. I live in Jesús, a small town located in Catalonia. I have one brother who is 18 years old and one sister, she’s 14 years old. I also have two dogs, its names are Nika and Taronja and my sister has six turtles. My favourite colour is green, I love this colour! I like going out with my friends and I hate false people. I have started this project because I like living new experiences. I like travelling and my favourite city is London. I like watching films on TV, and my favourite films are love and comedy films, but my favourite film par excellence is Titanic. I like listening to music but any kind of it in special.

Hi! I'm Nati Audí Poveda, I'm 16 years old and I live in Aldover, a little village near Roquetes.
I'm in firt Technologic Batxillerat in Roquetes High School.
My favourite colour is purple and I like animals. I have a turtle and a dog. Their names are: Manoli and Iris!

Andrea

Hi people! My name's Andrea Jardí Pons, I'm 16 years old and I live in Jesús, a little village near Roquetes.


I'm in first Scientist Batxillerat in Roquetes High School.


I'm going to talk about me; I was born on 4th January 1994 in Tortosa, a city near Roquetes. I live with my mother, my father, my two birds Quico and Kiwi and my dog Duc, I love all of them. I don't  have any special hobby, but I like listening to most types of music, reading when I have some free time, I also like to meet my friends because without them I wouldn't be anyone and I really like taking photos of people or nature. 

Sara

My name is Sara, I'm 16 and I'm from Catalonia (Spain). I'm studying 1st of Humanistic Batxillerat in Roquetes High School and now we are working in this interesting Comenius project. 
I hope to meet many people and know their costumes and hobbies. 
About me: I was born on 25th March, 94, I have a sister called Eva, and I have two black cats (and no, I'm not superstitious!) My hobbies are singing (I love it), meet my friends, meet new people, and of course, chat. ;) I play volleyball here in my town and I sing in the school orchestra STOP♥.
